I love September. It is my very favorite month of the year - however, our September in Kansas City this year has been more like the first part of August. I mentioned in my last newsletter that I coach high school field hockey in the fall. We travelled to St. Louis last weekend and man, if you add a hot artificial turf to very hot, it's something else. Like my cat, I typically love the heat, but I was pretty delirious in that heat. It was 101°F (38.33°C) - but artificial turf acts like a giant sponge for solar radiation, running 40°F to 70°F (4.4°C to 21.1°C) hotter than the surrounding air temperature on a clear, sunny day.

​I wrote a little blurb about Charlie the other day while he was sitting outside, enjoying the heat.

​Mingo - Ragdoll of the Week​

"Mingo is my beautiful mink colored Ragdoll boy. He has a gorgeous brown and white coat and big beautiful turquoise colored eyes. I got Mingo as a kitten almost three years ago from Gail Vettel of Angel Kissed Ragdolls in northern Minnesota. (Gail is a great breeder and produces wonderful cats!) Mingo is a half-brother to my older blue-mitted ragdoll, Kelchi – same father, but different mothers."
