Hi Reader, Last week, I mentioned how I didn't want to bathe Charlie. Well, I had to. When you are treating fleas naturally, you are limited with your options, especially if you have an older cat with kidney disease. The diatomaceous earth kills the adults, but it doesn't take care of the eggs or larvae until they hatch and wreak havoc. Because they die only after their exoskeleton has come into contact with the DE, it's not a quick death—so they irritate the heck out of the cat until they finally die. I "bathe" Charlie by soaking him in a warm bath with Epsom salts. I get in the bath with him and continuously pour water over his back to keep it wet. The fleas do not like the Epsom salts, and the magnesium really helps to pull out the histamines and scratchy feeling he has. But he doesn't like it, and I worry about the stress it causes him. He is strong though, very strong for his age, and did well with it. He also has to be blow-dried afterward—and that takes FOREVER. It takes hours and hours. I take breaks in between whenever he starts to hiss and swat the hairdryer. It is a miserable process for us both, but the only one I can figure out to work. I am still considering shaving him next time, as I love the idea of drenching a shorthaired cat in coconut oil, but on a long-haired cat, it's not really feasible. Charlie HATES to be brushed, so it's hard to just comb all the eggs and larvae out of him. I am really limited in my options and even used AI for ideas. For those looking for natural options, I have gathered all my resources here: natural flea control. 🎥 Shorts for Your Entertainment

MeetCayenne – Ragdoll of the Week "I contacted Cinnamon’s breeder, Stardolls Ragdoll Cattery. She had no seal-mitted kittens but one of her queens was carrying five kittens sired by her unproven seal-mitted. Of course, she could neither guarantee colors or sexes. I would have to wait but I definitely wanted a baby boy. I resolved to patiently wait for the birth of the litter. Then, I received the long awaited call. Four females and one male had just been born. He’s mine I excitedly told her! When can I see him? I would have to wait awhile until it was safe to view the new litter which felt like an eternity. Hi Reader, ⛈️ Storms, Chills, and "Flea Month" in KC It is storming in Kansas City right now, and the rain is sticking around through tomorrow. After that, our temperatures are dropping sharply from the 90s (32°C) straight into the 70s (21°C). Here in the Midwest, October is notorious for fleas. As the weather cools, they frantically seek warmer hosts before winter hits—and those crisp mornings make them much more likely to hop onto you, your cat, or your dog. Frustratingly, for the second...
