Hope your August is off to a good start.

I started coaching high school field hockey again this week, and it feels great to be back on the field.

Charlie is doing well, and we have really enjoyed our summer, flea-free, thanks to the animal communicator. If you missed my video where I explained this, it turns out that our ongoing flea problem was caused by a flea-bag opossum that was living in my tree and repopulating the yard every night. I never knew life could be so grand without that. I first tried to see if rehoming the opossum would work. But opposum groups on Facebook told me that wouldn't be for him. So Pam of Purrrfectly Holistic suggested I consult with an animal communicator. She "talked" to the oppossum and told him he needed to find a new home. He did for about a week, and then he was back, so I called her again, and she did it again. That was about two months ag,o and knock wood, we have not had a problem ever since. I am so grateful because we started getting them in February this year. Now, I do some things to keep opossums and raccoons out of my yard, especially so they don't bring in more fleas.

• After it rains, I put down Ecosmart Granules​
• I put Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade on Charlie every day before we go out and call it his "magic powder"
• I sprinkle Epsom Salt around the perimeter of my house in the backyard - this is the first season in years that I have not had sugar ants inside on my counter, and I think it's because of the Epsom salt!
• I spray my fence line with a mixture of liquid garlic and Dawn dish soap, so that it'll stick.

The Ecosmart Granules are a new addition this year, making life much easier. I use a handheld spreader to apply them. Takes about 8-10 minutes. So much better than hauling around the hose to spray everything. They are safe for Charlie too - I just try to do it 1 hour or so before I let him outside because the essential oils in the granules can be a little irritating to his eyes - they will water slightly, but he has no other physical reaction. So if they are out of the bag and airing out for long enough, they don't seem to bother him. And when something bothers Charlie, YOU KNOW - he doesn't hide it.

Speaking of Charlie, he is devouring, I mean, DEVOURING, the RAWZ Sardines and Pumpkin Gravy cans - plowed through 2 3-oz cans the other night. I was dumbfounded - he's a kidney cat, and most kidney cats don't have much of an appetite. I also finished the review of the RAWZ canned cat food that we were sent to review.
