Charlie and I went to the lake last weekend. It was nice to get away (I don't do that much these days), and get a swim in before summer ended. I used to go a lot more with my cats, but since Charlie became super sensitive to fragrances, I have wanted to keep him in my home environment, which is much more controlled.

My mom did mention that he was doing well. He is - and he doesn't respond as crazily as he did three years ago to fragrances, but it is still a process to manage with supplements so that he can be there with me. He does love it - Charlie is a people person and would have thrived in a home where someone was very extroverted and had parties all the time. That's not the human he got. But that's why I bring him along when everyone gets together, because he loves being in the middle of everything. I think I mentioned over Thanksgiving that there were 12 kids under the age of 12 and 13 adults - and he was in the middle of all of us, just hanging out.

But his meowing for the 2.5 hours drives me insane. If anyone has any non-pharmaceutical tips to help "sedate" them for car rides, I am all ears (pun intended for the meowing).
