Hi Reader, Hope you are having a good week! On Easter Sunday, I took my sister's Ragdoll cat, Addie, to UrgentVet - you can see the short I made below about UrgentVet. It's a really cool concept! My sister saw Addie licking incessantly near her rear end, so she went to check her and found an oozing wound. So, off to the emergency vet she went with my brother-in-law. He sat there for a few hours when they told him it would be at least three more hours, so they suggested he look into UrgentVet, which can do everything your regular vet can do when your regular vet is slammed or when they are closed (which was the case for us). As you guys know, my sister gave birth a little over 2 weeks ago, so with a newborn and a toddler, I offered to take Addie to UrgentVet. It was a really pleasant experience. Addie had to be sedated to have the wound cleaned out - her bloodwork showed infection, but otherwise looked good. Everything went well, and my sister and I will use red and blue light therapy on the wound until Addie goes to our regular vet on Thursday. I will also use ozonated saline on it (I discussed wound care with our regular vet to see what we could do to help the wound. My brother's cat had a similar wound, and it got pretty out of control, and she had to have surgery). The vet suspected that the wound came from Ash, so perhaps they had a fight or something, and Addie was trying to get away. We really don't know. Other than that, there is no concern because they get along very well otherwise. I hope to share videos and photos of the healing of the wound so you guys can see how cool the Photonic Health Multi-Light is. After a few days with the light, it already looks amazingly good. Last week marked the 15th anniversary of my Rags' passing. Be sure to check out the post about it and all the beautiful kitties that have touched readers' hearts.

Hi Reader, I am outside with my cats as I type this newsletter. It's 11:14 a.m., and it rained a bit last night and is supposed to rain again in a few hours. We usually don't go out until 1-2 p.m. (when I have a break during my work day), but I always check the weather for Charlie. Why? Because I have to apply Tick Killz regularly to keep the fleas at bay for him in my yard. Yesterday, I realized that when we have a light rain (it was raining while I was trimming my hedges in my backyard),...
Hi Reader, On May 9th, I turned 45 years old. So, 37 years ago, I found out that I was going to get my first Ragdoll, Skittles. Birthday milestones are good times to reflect on where you are now, what you’ve learned through the years, and what you’re still learning. When I apply those thoughts to Floppycats and my cats, I am super grateful for what I have learned. What Charlie and Trigg’s journeys to restored health have taught me has been completely life-changing—not only for me, for them,...
Hi Reader, Hope you're having a great week!
