Hi Reader, I hope your week is going well. I went to Orlando last week to Global Pet Expo and was very excited to meet Julie Anne Lee of Adored Beast Apothecary. I didn't know she would be there, and it was quite fun to meet her after all the interviews we have done (I think we have done four?). After spending time with her in person, I love her even more. I loved the show's first day; I was so excited about everything. However, as I got into the second day, I started to get sad about all the harmful products being sold to pet parents with a lot of money behind them. Pet parents just don't know. They don't know what's good and what to trust, and I was one of those pet parents, and sometimes, they still can be. It also made me think of something I don't talk about a lot - I am hit up several times a day to review or feature a product. I am VERY PICKY about who I will work with, who I will feature, etc. Why? Because my honesty, integrity, and core values are things I have to go to bed with every night. I cannot sleep at night if I am a sellout or do something I don't align with. There are more popular cat bloggers, influencers, etc - they are better marketers than I am and better entertainers, but even if I were all those things, I would still stand behind my core principles. For example, when I look at pet beds, I look to see what the filler content is, what off-gasing it will have, and whether it will be toxic to our kitties. Yes, I don't always feature the cheapest products, but I feature products that are neat, helpful, cool, of high quality, etc. I want you to be able to trust the products I feature. I am very particular about the companies and products I will work with. I have said no to companies when I needed the income to pay bills, but I cannot work with brands and manufacturers I don't trust. At the end of the day, my honesty and integrity is all I have - and I hope those are also the reasons you're here. March 30th marked 16 years since my Rags passed. Rags is the soul of Floppycats. He was my rock through adolescence, heartbreak, and life's challenges. His 19.5 years taught me invaluable lessons, and his passing prepared me for the losses of Caymus, Murphy, and Chiggy. Without him, Floppycats wouldn't exist. Thank you for being part of his legacy. If you have the time, I would love for you to take a look, comment, and share our Shorts from last week:

MeetSawyer – Ragdoll Kitten of the Month"Sawyer is very relaxed around company, often running to greet guests at the door and leaping onto my chair in the middle of a dinner party. He also has an uncanny ability to find the one person in the room who is allergic to cats and makes a special effort to imprint himself on the hapless guest. Sawyer goes crazy playing with wand toys with elastic strings (a Hartz one with a goldfish is a fav), zooming around the house terrorizing small felt mice, making off with jigsaw puzzle pieces, and rummaging through garbage cans." |

Hi Reader, Hope your week is going really well. By the time you get this email, I will be at Global Pet Expo in Orlando, Florida. I have ALWAYS wanted to go, but haven't been able to get away because of Charlie or Trigg's needs/health, finances etc. Charlie is stable enough, so I am able to travel. My mom and sister are also in town, so if the cat sitter has any trouble, I know they are around to help out. However, I feel terrible when he is alone, especially with Trigg gone. Do you have a...

Hi Reader, How's everyone's weather? Ours is up and down - it was warm today, that lovely, beautiful blue sky, and by the time you receive this email, it promises to be snowing in Kansas City again. Sigh. I don't mind it for the fleas, but it's hard to keep putting down products for fleas. I'd love to find a flea expert to talk to, so if you know of any, please let me know. Likewise, if someone has a connection to someone famous who loves cats, please let me know or let them know about me. I...
