October! A few years ago, when we got our first bad flea infestation, I visited a local pet store looking for natural products (since Charlie had a head tremor from topical flea meds), and the manager told me that October was the worst flea season. I was shocked. I thought it would have been in summer - especially the most humid parts. He said, "No, in October, fleas are trying to come inside where it's warm."

I have taken many measures since those days, and recently have discovered a new-to-me flea product - Flea Destroyer. Flea Destroyer is a product developed by an entomologist (someone who studies bugs). Although I have reviewed and used several other beneficial nematode products, Flea Destroyer outperforms them in my yard for sure. I have applied it twice (see video below), and Charlie has had many days flea-free - the longest we have gone in the last two years without fleas.

I emailed Flea Destroyer and told them about my yard and my flea magnet (Charlie). They suggested applying Flea Destroyer once more before the leaves start to fall, so I did last week, and that's when I finalized the video below. Treating your environment is paramount with fleas, especially if you have a huge tree like I do where raccoons and opossums live.
