Goodbye Stress: Master Cat Medication with This DIY Pill Trick 😻

Published 4 months ago • 3 min read

Hi Reader,

Hope you're staying warm and safe. I thought our weather was frigid; as I write this, our temp is -4F (-20C), but I saw a reader post that in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, it was -44C. I cannot even imagine.

If you have time and the desire, I would appreciate your support for Dr. Karen Becker and Rodney Habib's efforts to do a book, Forever Cat, after their very successful Forever Dog book! The publisher didn't believe enough people would be interested in a Forever Cat book, so they are making them get 5,000 signatures to "prove" cat people would be interested. The work Rodney Habib and Dr. Karen Becker are doing for our pets is amazing and making companies be more transparent for our kitties. Please sign the petition here.

Last month, O3 Vets invited me to do an interview about my experience with ozone therapy. Ozone therapy was incredible for Caymus. I was honored to talk about it because of what it did for Caymus and for his quality of life.

Peace, love, and purrs,

Goodbye Stress: Master Cat Medication with This DIY Pill Trick (Gelatin Caps!)

Is your cat a master pill escape artist? This trick changes EVERYTHING! I include links where to buy them in the description of the video. I usually get #3 or #4 gel caps. I used these for Caymus, too, when he was in chronic renal failure, so he didn't have to taste the pharmaceutical drugs.

Cat Health and Wellness

It’s important to take good care of your kitty, and keeping a few products around to promote her health and wellness is a great start. Some important basic steps to keep your cat well are caring for her coat, nails, and skin. Cats groom themselves, but to help prevent fur balls, matted hair, and snarls, you should comb or brush their hair to remove the dead coat. When the seasons change, this is especially important because many cats will shed. If you have a long-haired cat, like a Ragdoll cat, you may need to do this much more often than with a short-haired breed.

Casper Blue - Ragdoll Kitten of the Month

Meet Casper. Casper’s favorite toy is a wire toy. I tied some Christmas curling ribbon to the end of it! He also has a stuffed Panda that he drags around and “attacks” – we think he kind of resembles the Panda with his coloring, too! His favorite place to lay is at the top of our stairs, where he can observe everything, or in his cardboard scratching ‘bowl’ – which seems uncomfortable, but he loves it!

Maximus Feliciano – Ragdoll of the Week

Hi Reader, I am outside with my cats as I type this newsletter. It's 11:14 a.m., and it rained a bit last night and is supposed to rain again in a few hours. We usually don't go out until 1-2 p.m. (when I have a break during my work day), but I always check the weather for Charlie. Why? Because I have to apply Tick Killz regularly to keep the fleas at bay for him in my yard. Yesterday, I realized that when we have a light rain (it was raining while I was trimming my hedges in my backyard),...

Hi Reader, On May 9th, I turned 45 years old. So, 37 years ago, I found out that I was going to get my first Ragdoll, Skittles. Birthday milestones are good times to reflect on where you are now, what you’ve learned through the years, and what you’re still learning. When I apply those thoughts to Floppycats and my cats, I am super grateful for what I have learned. What Charlie and Trigg’s journeys to restored health have taught me has been completely life-changing—not only for me, for them,...
