Merry Christmas Eve to those of you who celebrate Christmas!

In 1989, my siblings and I were gifted Rags as a Christmas present, along with his half-brother, Cosby. Cosby died at 10 months old of FIP, but Rags lived for 19.5 years and was the reason I started Floppycats back in 2008.

Rags came to me in a dream the other night, which was weird to experience after so many years - he has been gone for 17 years in March. Christmas was my favorite as a child, and Rags had a large part in that - I loved bringing him downstairs with me and putting him on the couch as we unwrapped gifts and our stockings. Of course, my mom always made Christmas incredibly special - and she's the one who made our Rags and Cosby gift possible. A gift that would forever change my life and be the source of my career many years later. If you are a parent, honor your child's dreams - you never know where they will take them. (My first cat, Skittles, was gifted to me for my birthday when I was 8 years old - and he died of FIP at 2 years old - so Rags and Cosby were his "replacements" but this time, a family gift).

Time for a new litter box. This is one of my very favorites. Have two of them in my master bath. I used this to bring Trigg inside and outside his last few weeks of life...long story, I will explain when I make the video for it soon. "Once upon a time, in the small city of Fort Wayne, Indiana, seven tiny white kittens were born to a Ragdoll cat mom and a great big Ragdoll dad. One of these kittens (the largest of the seven, coincidentally) was our tiny white kitten, an I-love-you present I was giving to my then 9-year-old son, Jaden. As the adorable little fur balls scampered about in play for the next ten weeks with their birth family and their humans, Jaden and I visited and planned and named our kitten…Shamrock."
