🐾 A Trigg memory, desk hammocks, & beating the algorithm

Hi Reader,

Hope you and your kitty are doing well.

I want to be transparent with you about why our Facebook feed looks a little different than it has in years past. To keep Floppycats sustainable as my full-time career, I’ve had to adapt to what the algorithm rewards—which is often the lighter, 'emoji-heavy' content. However, my goal is still to bring you the deep, educational content Floppycats is known for.

To do that, I need your help to 'train' the algorithm. Facebook will only help my original content reach your newsfeed if it sees you interacting with it. Like this post of Charlie. When you take a second to like, share, or leave a comment, you are providing the fuel that allows my more meaningful work to show up in your feed more often. It’s the most direct way you can support the content you truly value. This goes for any creator on any platform. Take the time like the video, share it and comment on it! It REALLY helps us and helps more valuable content be seen.

If you have the time, I would love for you to take a look, comment, and share our recent Shorts:

Have a great week ahead!

Peace, love, and purrs,

Jenny

Just Chiggy Being Chiggy

I recently uncovered a special backyard video of my late blue lynx mitted Ragdoll, Trigg, filmed in the spring of 2018. Charlie had gone inside, giving Chiggy and me a peaceful, quiet moment together.

Watching it is bittersweet since I miss him so deeply, but it perfectly captures his unique spirit. In just five minutes, you get to see:

  • His adorable head twirls as he rolls over in the grass.
  • The funny way he wraps himself around the backyard brick pillar (and around me).
  • His incredible patience while I pick dirt from his coat (Charlie would never let me get away with that!).
  • How much he absolutely loved getting his scratches.

I hope this brings a smile to your face and helps you remember him fondly.

Gus – Floppycat of the Week

"I rescued Gus 2 years ago and he rescued me back. My boys (a black domestic shorthair 16 years, and an American bobtail 13 years) had died two months before– within one week of each other. One from kidney disease, and one I didn’t know was sick."

Seal mitted Ragdoll kitten Bo

Hi Reader, Big news! My cousin, Jill, is getting a new kitten! Meet Bo! I posted about him on our Facebook page. My cousin Jill is officially bringing this little guy home on July 27th, and he is coming from the incredible 𝗖𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗥𝗮𝗴𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘀 in Medina, OH. Bo has some truly special lineage. He’s the son of Bumblebee (CottonBlues The Ultimate Buzz) and Ben E (RockinBlues Save The Last Dance). The best part? His dad’s grandfather is Soulmates Tyler’s Toys—who happens to be Charlie’s dad! Born...

Hi Reader, Guess what's back?! Do you know about the Chewy deal? I love these deals and take advantage of them whenever they're available. They used to be monthly, but now they are not as frequent. Free $30 eGift Card with $100 purchase with code SUMMER. And what's cool is that you can do the deal 3x every time - they vary, though, when it's available. Unfortunately, they don't let you order $300 and get $90 in gift cards; you have to place three separate orders, each slightly over $100. I do...

Giving my Ragdoll cat Real Mushrooms 5 Defenders

Hi Reader, I hope you and your kitty are doing well! Last Tuesday was pretty scary for Charlie and me. We were hanging out in the backyard when a massive limb suddenly snapped off our big tree. Unfortunately, it broke right where a honeybee nest was hidden, and the bees instantly swarmed and came after me. Panic set in as I ran frantically around the yard, terrified that Charlie had been crushed under the branch. Thankfully, he had the good sense to sprint far away from the danger! But when...
